Communication on the Dance Floor

Communication on the dance floor is like communicating in real life.  In dancing, the leader communicates to the follower how to reflect the music.  Most followers are not mind readers, they depend on what the leader communicates.  If the lead is too light, then the follower may not "hear".  If the lead is too heavy or rough, then the follower will just "turn off".  Dancing is a two-way conversation even though we label it lead/follow.  As a leader, I listen to the feedback and adjust.  Last night, a lady complained about being pulled and pushed.  Guys, move yourself and the ladies will follow.  Ladies tune into the leader.  Sometimes ladies are paying attention to everything but their partner.
Bottom line, be nice, look for feedback, and tune into each other.
